Backed by almost two decades of Utemaster design and manufacturing, the GearForce Hard Lid is a simple, down to earth cover built to get the job done.
Designed for real world use, it focuses on the essentials: strength, security, weather protection and ease of use. It delivers proven quality and expertise at a more accessible level, without the usual corner cutting seen across the industry.
KEY FEATURES
- Access: Gas stays assist with lifting the hard lid open. Open the tailgate while the hard lid is closed so you can get to gear when loaded.
- Secure: No exposed locks, central locking via the tailgate.
- Load Rating: 200KG Dynamic, 400kg Static.
- Install: Easy to remove and refit when you need the tub open for bigger loads
- Heavy Duty: 5052 grade aluminium lid skin with a tough black powdercoat finish.
- Strong: Strong aluminium extrusion side rails and bracing tied together as one solid system. No loose bolts or rivets in the main structure, built to stay tight and secure over time.
- Weatherproof: Front and rear seals designed for best in class weather protection, including a front seal so water runs off, not into the tub.

*Most modern utes come with a factory central-locking tailgate. If yours doesn’t, the tailgate can still be locked using the vehicle key, or upgraded to central locking through your dealer.

Fitting / Installation
The GearForce Hard Lid uses a quick-release system, so you can remove and refit it easily when you need full tub access.

SECURITY
Keeping your gear safe shouldn’t be a hassle, whether it’s tools for work or camping gear for the weekend.
The Gearforce Hard Lid keeps all latches hidden, so there’s nothing easy to pry or tamper with.
It hooks into your vehicle’s central locking via the tailgate, so when you lock the ute, the tub locks with it.
EASY ACCESS
Drop the tailgate and lift the lid – access is straightforward.
Adjustable gas struts let you set the open height, and the strap underneath makes it easy to pull down.
You can open the tailgate with the lid closed, so you can still reach your gear without lifting the whole lid.
BUILT TOUGH
Cheap hard lids can flex, rust and work loose over time.
The GearForce Hard Lid uses 5052-grade aluminium with a black powdercoat and a tempered aluminium extrusion bracing system to stay solid.
With no bolts or rivets to shake free, it’s a tough, low-fuss setup you can rely on.
WEATHER PROTECTION
A lot of hard lids leave a gap at the front, so when you lift them, water runs straight into the tub.
That means wet tools, damp camping gear and a mess to clean up every time it rains.
The GearForce Hard Lid uses a best-in-class weatherproofing system with a full front seal, keeping water out when you open up.

A lot of hard lids claim they can “take a load on top” but haven’t actually been tested.
